About

About Me

Hello! First, I would like to acknowledge what it has taken for you to come this far. Searching for a therapist can be challenging, and it often brings up feelings of uncertainty, fear, vulnerability, or anxiety. I hope that you will soon be able to experience some relief and comfort in finding a therapist that meets your needs (whether that is myself or someone else).

In 2014 I began working in Community Mental Health, supporting folks who struggle with issues including chronic mental health conditions, suicide risk, housing instability, and substance use. Today I work primarily with adults in a private practice setting around issues including depression, anxiety, trauma, neurodivergence, relationship & parenting stress, and life transitions.

I was born and raised in the PNW, and love everything about living here. When I'm not at work I enjoy spending time with family, being a mom, playing music, running D&D adventures, and rock climbing!

Therapy
What will therapy be like?

Seeking help can be difficult, and it takes courage to share your story with someone. I value the importance of taking time to build a trusting therapeutic relationship and a safe space to share vulnerability. I also firmly believe that you are the expert when it comes to yourself, and I will strive to see the world through your eyes in order to understand how I can help.

Therapy is a collaborative process. I work alongside my clients to help them identify and challenge unhelpful thought patterns, understand and process emotional distress, practice mindfulness and relaxation techniques, heal from and reprocess past traumas to find meaning and happiness again. I respect that each person will need to work at a different pace, and in their own way. Because of this, I utilize primarily a holistic Person-Centered approach combined with psychoeducation. This means that we will consider all areas of your life (such as daily routines, physical/neurological differences, cultural background, societal/systemic impacts, relationships, and spiritual or religious factors) when determining where and how you would like positive growth to happen. Depending on the needs of each person, I will also draw from other therapeutic frameworks including Mindfulness, Solution-Focused, CBT, Narrative Therapy, Attachment Theory, and Existential Theory. I also enjoy using humor as a tool to encourage healing :)

I look forward to meeting you, hearing your story, and working together to find a path toward your goals.
